Cooperative Predator
Vocalisation Consortium
Research working groups
As a consortium, we are an informal network of research, with a wide range of interests and question. We support the work of many different and disparate research groups, by providing connections and information, rather than dictating which are the "interesting" directions for study. However, there are some research questions that fall clearly into our range of interests.
We support working groups that are informal collections of researchers interested in a particular topic. These groups provide the opportunity to exchange ideas and form collaborations.
Acoustic taxonomy of canids
How does vocal behaviour vary between the different canid species: wolves, coyotes, dogs, etc? How do "dialects" change across locations?
Beyond Canids
Many species are both social and vocal, and many hunters form long term bonds within stable structured groups. Other species eavesdrop on these vocalisations to gain information.
